Other mini-sentences: mama eat it, dada take it (when he wants dad to take the empty bottle), and I did it.
The Lee Valley Christmas catalog came the other day, and it has a picture on the back of a real Ford tractor, and a tin reproduction of same made as a tricycle for a 4 year old. Ollie fell in love with it, looked at that picture for hours, and took the magazine to bed with him. I think he has gotten over it now though, good thing as the reproduction costs $195.
Ollie quite often gets these fixations, he will see something and then talk about it for hours afterwards, or bring it up out of the blue several days later. A couple of months ago we met twins at the park, and although he was too shy to say anything to them, a few hours after we got home he said "TWO babies", and then every once in a while for a couple of weeks after that he would mention how he saw TWO babies. We never imagined he would have such a memory.
Big milestone today; for the first time ever he told us his diaper was dirty of his own accord, without even being prompted. He patted his bum and said 'poot'. Isn't it sad what you get excited about as a parent.
No baby yet.
