So behind

Ollie had his second birthday almost two weeks ago, and Sam turned four months just before that. We had a little party for Ollie with his favourite grown-up friends; we were too chicken to have a house full of two year-olds. We had cupcakes and tea, and Ollie enjoyed himself tremendously as he was the centre of attention for two hours. I got the camera out beforehand but completely forgot to take pictures, 2 slaps on the wrist for that. We also sent cupcakes to daycare the next day so he had another little party with all his friends (no clean-up required on my part!).

We haven't been taking many pictures of Sam either as our 24 hour a day focus has been making this place livable, unpacking, sorting, deciding what to get rid of. I will try to get what few photos there are uploaded and on to the website soon, no promises though.

We had our first guest in the new house last weekend, had a wonderful visit from Tiffany. We mostly hung out and ate lots of cookies, and Tiff bought some fabric and introduced me to the most wonderful baby carrier. Check it out at www.peapodcreations.ca. It is so much more comfortable than any other carrier, and all you need is about 5 yards of a knitted t-shirt type fabric to make your own cheaply. Sam loves going out and about in it.

Ollie is pretty much talking in full sentences now, although it still takes some acclimatization to understand the pronounciation. He loves his trains (and often declares it) and really appreciated all the lovely train-oriented gifts for his birthday. Another big hit was a magnetic tow truck puzzle - the tow truck has a magnet on it and lifts the puzzle pieces (cars with a steel button rivet) out of the board, resulting in exclamations of "I did it!". His other favourite phrase is "what's that?" which he asks all day non-stop. Very curious to know what everything is.

Sam is also quite chatty in his own way, and is trying as hard as he can to roll over, but that pesky arm is always in the way. He recently had his four month shots and weighed in at almost 17 lbs. His weight and length are still 90th percentile for his age. He's so long that he is into the 6 month-old sleepers, and even some 9-month old ones.
