Clara has a new sister. Welcome Pippa Rue!
Poor Sam is having a rough week. first Ollie drove his big truck all across the kitchen and living room, picking up speed the whole way, and drove it straight into Sam's head. This elicited crying on the same level as immunization shots. Then yesterday Ollie slid off the sofa and landed with all his weight on Sam's forehead. The crying for this incident eclipsed immunization levels. Sam seems to be OK, but if in the future he turns out a little daft we will know whose fault it is. On the bright side he has been going in the exersaucer and jolly jumper and figured them both out immediately, little superstar. He really loves the jolly jumper.
Ollie had a wonderful Easter. First he had an Easter egg hunt at daycare last Thursday, where he was introduced to chocolates and immediately became like a crack addict for them. All the way home in the car I had to listen to "more chocolates please" in a desperate, jittery tone of voice reminiscent of his father without a coffee in the morning. It hasn't stopped since either. I bought one kinder egg for him, because I didn't want him bingeing on chocolate eggs all day, I didn't think we would ever hear the end of it, but my plans were foiled by our new neighbours. We woke up to a basket on the door step full of chocolates and cookies, plus a stuffed kitten, a barnyard animal book (that makes sounds) and a red hot wheels car for Ollie. There was also a lovely new teething toy for Sam, which he just loves. This was all courtesy of our next door neighbour Karen, Ollie's latest honorary grandma. Then when we came home from dinner in the evening, the neighbours across the courtyard had hidden a bunch of chocolate eggs in our front patio for Ollie to find, and also left two small stuffed animals. These kids are spoiled! The kitten is his new favourite and gets tucked under his arm and taken everywhere, especially to bed.
Ollie wants to know the name of everything now, and likes giving things names. He has a green dragon from Ikea and when I asked what his name was he said "Bunny". Bunny the dragon it is. When he is asking the name of something we often have to ask for clarification - whose name? He thinks we are correcting his sentence structure and now he asks "what's whose name?".
