18 months

Sam is a year and a half today. Just like Ollie, he is very precocious and is well into the terrible twos already. Lots of tantrums over every little thing, from getting dressed or undressed to fighting over whatever toy Ollie has. Ollie doesn't seem to have developed any more mature tactics for getting what he wants over the years either, so sometimes our house feels like one long scream fest. Unlike Ollie, Sam just does not want to talk. I checked the 18 month blog for Ollie, and he already could say the word for just about every kind of vehicle at that point, and basically had too many words to list. Sam can say "more" if you really coax him, and he used to say "bye" but seems to have dropped that one lately from his vocabulary. Can you call it a vocabulary if its less than 5 words? I think he was trying to say toes the other night. What he lacks in breadth he makes up for in volume.

We tried out a new sitter last night, which went very well. She cam over after the boys dinner and played with them and put them to bed, no tears, no hysterics, no problems at all. I was a little worried because all their previous sitters were people they already knew. However, I was left wondering if $80 for the dinner and $30 for the sitter was really worth it for a 3 hour break?
