Sam finally has a tooth, too small to photograph yet, but definitely there. Feels like sandpaper on his gum. The second one is on its way too. He is sitting up on his own like a champion, he can lean over to grab a toy and get himself back to vertical without falling over even. And for the past couple of weeks he has been doing a commando crawl on his belly to get where he wants. I even caught him on hands and knees once but he doesn't do that too often. Not long til he is crawling I suppose, and then I will be sorry.
After a week or two of finding Ollie sleeping on the floor we broke down and got him a guard rail. He loves it. We had a routine of giving him a kiss through the bars of the crib just before leaving the room when he was going to bed, and when he saw the guard rail on the mattress he said 'My bars! I LOVE them!', and now we have to give him a kiss through the mesh on the guard rail. Now the only issue is that he has discovered that there is nothing keeping him in bed and if he isn't sleepy he can get up and play, or sneak down the stairs to eavesdrop on us. Most of the time he's pretty good though. He still adores Sam and has taken to calling him Sammy even though we never call him that. Now that Sam sits up more they even can play together a little bit. Ollie particularly likes to hold Sam's hand, its really sweet. I've been told it won't last long. Toilet training continues to go much better than I expected, he uses the potty almost every evening and is branching out to other times of the day as well. He also frequently and successfully uses the potty at daycare - must be the peer pressure. He continues to thrive at daycare, and on the weekend usually asks in the morning if he can go to daycare. Is that a complement to the daycare or an insult to us?
I'm busily selling all our baby things - if anybody wanted any of our stuff speak up quickly. The infant car seat is gone, the baby carrier and nursing pillow are next, along with the extra playpen. Yay! Can't wait til we can get rid of the exersaucer too
