summer colds

Sam and I have ben fighting a cold for almost two weeks now, just can't seem to shake it. Ade also came down with something a couple of days ago, hope its the same one and not a new one. The cold, of course, has wreaked havoc with Sam's sleeping: he has gone from being a reasonable night time sleeper, only up once or twice, and a super-star napper, to being horrible at both. Although he is mostly better, the poor sleeping seems to have become habit so today we tried crying to sleep in an effort to break out of it and it went much better than expected. It only took about 10 minutes of crying this morning and 12 this afternoon, although he fell asleep on his stomach with his head crammed into a corner up against the bumper pads - don't tell the SIDS people, I'll have my license revoked.

Both of Sam's bottom teeth are completely through, nice and straight unlike Ollie's which were at a 90 degree angle. Maybe this means we'll only have one huge orthodontist bill to contend with.

Ollie has been 'reading' to Sam, quite sweet. It's amazing the extent to which he has most of his books memorized, he gets the right words with the right page and everything. In physical feats, he has been riding a tricycle at daycare and even pulling one of the other kids behind the tricycle in a little wagon.

I am still spending all my time sewing draperies and moving stuff around the house. Now that Sam is in the crib in his big rom, I am starting to work on making the upstairs 'room' (7x4' closet) into a den for me and Ade. Too many projects - can't wait til they are all done and I have a weekend to do absolutely nothing.
