standing

After only about a week of crawling Sam said enough of that, time to stand up, and started pulling himself up on the furniture, climbing the stairs, falling down all over the place. Not cruising yet, but can that be more than another week away?

Ollie has moved into a silly phase. He likes to say and do silly things, he knows they are silly and that it is all a joke, and really cracks himself up with it all. One night before his bath he started bringing me non-bath-friendly toys (stuffed animals, books etc.) and asking if they could go in the bath. I said in an exaggerated voice that no they couldn't, they would get all wet, and he would just burst out laughing and go get the next thing. Next night, he asks 'mummy do you want to be funny with me?' I had no idea what he meant, thought he just wanted to laugh together, so I said yes, but then he starts playing the inappropriate-bath-toy game again. He also likes to pretend alot now; he pretends to see animals on the wall, and just when you go along with it and pretend to see it too he will give you a withering look and say there's nothing there as if you are the fool for believing him.

Sam had his 9 month check-up, is down to 50th percentile for weight, and is just about the healthiest baby the doctor has ever seen. I bet she says that to all the mothers.
